It began with a protein found in royal jelly. We bioengineered that protein for dermal repair and pointed it at one of the most stubborn challenges in the sector, topical care for scars and stretch marks. Two products. One underlying biological challenge. MRJP1 Labs StretchSerum and ScarGel.

01 – The problem

A scar is healed skin, rebuilt without its original architecture.

That’s what makes it structurally different, and so difficult to heal aesthetically. When skin is injured, the body closes the wound quickly and unpredictably. Collagen is laid down in thick, uneven bundles. Elasticity decreases. Blood flow drops. The tissue becomes rigid. The surface may look closed, but beneath it, the structure has changed.

That structural difference is the problem we have chosen to work on. StretchSerum, for dermal architecture disrupted by stretching. And ScarGel, for dermal architecture disorganized after injury.

02 – Our approach

The protein comes from nature.
The product comes from bioscience.

MRJP1 stands for Major Royal Jelly Protein 1.

Our starting point came from royal jelly, but this is not a honey product. Honey is unstable, inconsistent, and biologically noisy. Using recombinant technology, we isolate the molecule that signals cell growth and tissue repair. And then we re-engineer it for consistent use and safe, predictable outcomes.

Understand the science

The enemy is the gap between promise and evidence.

Scar repair has asked people to believe promises that did all the heavy lifting. The superlatives kept multiplying, and before-and-after photos got harder and harder to trust. So people stopped believing, and frankly they were right to. Skepticism isn’t cynicism. It comes from experience.

We won’t answer that with louder claims. We’d rather answer it with records. We document what we see, we label the evidence for exactly what it is, and we build it before we sell anything. Most brands launch with a campaign. We’re launching with evidence.

Before anything goes on sale, we document what happens on real skin. Cohort 0 was a small first group of participants with established scars.
